There are plenty of posts about this issue and TSBs on how it gets fixed.
Thanks for the info. I found the long thread and the service bulletin for 2020 Defenders, https://landroverforums.com/forum/20...-speed-101509/
Mine is a 2022. Shouldn't it be fixed from the factory by now? Anyone else with a 2022 have the issue?

It's still an issue.I have it on my 2021, and it's still out there for some 2022 owners as well. From the way you describe the sound, I think it may well be what's causing your problem.

I have a MY22; and have had the rattle near the driver left air vent near the door. More aggressive when I’m off roading / on washed out roads.
similar scenario when I pinch the soft fabric in front of the vent of the cross bar it would silence it.

based on this thread I opened it up and popped out that bottom black trim.

one of the metal clips was rattling around in the enclosure. And then I stuck some soft fabric from Michael’s between the instrument panel and the touch plastic beside it. I think for me that’s where the rubbing is.

hoping this solves it.

Black trim you pull down, once you’ve removed the side grab panel and extra screw holding in trim

Pull straight down

Update:

Put in the felt padding from Amazon that Paul recommended earlier to the lower and upper plastic areas and that seems to have fixed the issue.

Big thanks to Paul on explaining how to remove the upper plastic area, never would have figured that out on my own.
