Just asking because I'm in the same boat: You couldn't find any dealer in California who would allow you to order a Defender at MSRP?

Correct. None of the out of state dealerships want to sell to me. Called pretty much every dealer in California. Their ADM ranged between $10k-20k. Only reason I was able to get $5k ADM for mine was because my friend works at one of the dealers and was able to "hook it up."

Although I did hear that more defenders are coming, so I think the ADM situation will improve in the next few months if you are willing to wait.

JLR? Many of us have bought from out of state. I live in Seattle and bought (at MSRP) from my previous dealer in Phoenix. They are willing to sell to me and title and license in WA state for me.
I don’t know how it worked in the past. But if you call a dealership now and ask they would say the restriction is imposed by JLR.

My friend ordered a 130 at LR San Diego in June, he was promised MSRP. I’m in Ohio though myself.

The two dealers in CT near me (Darien and Fairfield) were ordering at MSRP and both had allocations that were available to me either immediately or within a week or so. One even offered me an incoming car at MSRP.

Any JLR Dealership will sell to you with a $500 montana corporation. Because there are no dealerships in Montana. My buddy just bought from Las Vegas dealership to a montana corporation and he lives in Bakersfield, CA.

No ADM either, but he did know a sales guy in Vegas.
