Default Cutting out OEM resonator on V8

I know some people (ehloo) have talked about modifying the oem exhaust by cutting out the resonator and replacing with straight pipes (or H or X pipe). But has anyone actually done it on the P525 V8? How did the sound of the exhaust change? Thanks.

It will definitely change the sound but I would caution you before you do so as this may cause your Defender to fail an emission inspection. Check with your state's inspection stations or your dealer before doing this.

That's not necessarily true. I'm not familiar with the exhaust components of the V8 but if the "resonators" are simply that (used to manage exhaust sound), then you'll have no emission issues. I've recently removed the resonators on my '23 Aston Martin Vantage and on my '21 Audi RS6 and NO emission issues. And man what a lovely and improved sound they now have!!
