It’s been exactly a year since I took delivery of the D130. Absolutely love it. Done over 28,000kms.
but now time to enhance it.
1. Offroad tires
2. Roof Bars
3. fix up Clear Sight rear view mirror
4. light silver front and rear bumber needs to be darker
To start off with.
would love to see other D130’s and what all you guys have done with it.
Heres my toy... and to think I said I wouldn't modify it at all lol.
1) Extended wheel arches, deletes the factory reflectors... never been able to find painted ones at a reasonable price with the lights and frankly I like it without anyway.
2) Thule Cross bars with Dakine pads to eliminate the wind noise.
3) OEM but used "clear/smoked' tails from the Defender Xs and V8s.
4) Hunters Prestige Reverse Lights
5) Spray painted the muffler box to eliminate the unsightly silver can beneath the rear bumper
6) Tint all around including front windshield and pano roof (though on these two I just did 70% but high quality film for heat rejection)
7) Full front clip PPF'd and select other areas of the car.
8) Calipers painted in candy goldish/orangeish color - I believe it was called 'Sunburst' - with Defender decals applied on the front, and then ceramic coated the entire caliper.
9) Aftermarket side steps - factory replica
10) Aftermarket side ladder - factory replica - But I also DIY vinyl wrapped the 'silver' steps. Not perfect but passes the 3ft test and looks good for cheap.
11) Added a number of Carbon fiber accents to the interior as well as replacing the 'wood' that was there.
12) Phone mount
13) Radar mount and hard wired
14) Added some strobe lights to the rear back glass to help when perpendicularly parked in a dark/narrow parking lot.
15) Canvas Back cargo area liners.
16) 'Coded' a number of things with iD GAP Tool. Including Dynamic mode which is a must have IMO.
17) Black lug nut caps to cover the chome ones/match the black wheels better.
18) Caps also over the spare wheel lugs, and the two/silver/open holes on the spare tire. I prefer the look of leaving the factory cover on, but I recently acquired the Yakima SpareRack which means taking the cover off.
19) Wheel spacers to flush out the factory wheels to the fenders.
20) OEM shorter mud flaps (not the classic longer ones)
21) Screen protector over the OEM screen
22) Cargo box under the shifter ahead of the center console
Immediate to do list:
1) Recently purchased an ambient lighting kit that will take me some time to get done, so need to find a day when I have the whole day to spare to get it done. ITs universal so will take some time for me to plan out how I want to lay out the strips.
Long Term to do list:
1) Eventually I'll go with an aftermarket wheel set (got my eye on Avante Garde Vangaurd in 22's) - but will wait for this until I need new tires at which point I plan to go with Toyo Open Country A/T IIIs.
2) I have the Loadspace Floor Box on order from JLR, no ETA but will eventually level out my cargo area floor once it finally arrives.
3) Possibly will do this when I take off the door cards for the ambient lighting, but many have said how much of an improvement some sound deadening materials will do to the factory stereo.
4) I purchased the soft close rear door kit from Hunters Prestige when I was in the UK last summer. Its still sitting in the box. I'll get to it eventually.
Things I plan to look into but may or may not do eventually:
1) Yellow fog lights from Lucky 8
2) May do a roof spoiler, but still on the fence.
3) Get to that damn Passive 'sounder' that makes the stupid beep beep tone when you double lock the doors and replace it with a tone thats more befitting a luxury vehicle.
4) Add the grille light accessory I've been eyeing for a while, or separate much brighter lights in the lower grille area.
5) I keep going back and forth on whether I 'want' the clear sight rear view mirror. If I see someone parting out a car with one I may consider it but I'm certainly not that excited about it to pay brand new OEM prices.

Matt PPF, Added custom Outbound bonnet decals
If you'd like my thoughts the first thing I'd do with yours is:
1) get covers or vinyl wrap the silver portions of your side steps
2) Purchase a full black out kit to black out all of your silver bits on the front and rear bumper. They're clashing with the fantastic matte/dark car you've got there.
3) Wheel lug covers to black those out against your black wheels. you need 22mm for your normal lugs and 21mm if you've got JLR factory wheel locks.
I freakin love the matte Carpathian. If I didn't already PPF so much of my truck, I'd probably look into vinyl wrapping selected portions myself.
[thanks for the detailed dossier on the mods you have done.
yes the bumper I’m getting it done but the V8 Dark Grey, not a fan of the black version.
side steps as well will be the same dark grey.
Need to order and get the rear flat load space tray for the rear.
Opted to get the Rhino Rack 3 Cross Bars for the roof to put on a roof top tent.
Wheels, looking to put some retro Steels on with Ridge Grapplers. Been told 275 55 20 will have no issues with rubbing etc. don’t want to particularly lift or put on spacers at the moment.
Black out the light grey interior panels, it’s doing my head it and still can’t get used to it.
In terms of interior, didn’t fall victim to the “chip shortage” scenario so luckily all came loaded except the clear sight, so only that needs to be done. Hoping to get it from Hunter Prestige.
