Trying to figure out what this dash speaker is for since nothing will turn on it. This is in a P400 with 400w system.

According to the marketing material, that speaker is supposed to function in the Meridian upgrade. Could be a dead channel. Not like a home theater where the DSP won’t send center signal unless it’s in the encoding. You should ask the folks in the service dept. You’ve got me curious though for mine. I’ll think I’ll check tomorrow and report back if I’m getting signal output from center dash. Strange.

Do you have a multimeter? I’d check that the two terminals on the speaker are discontinuous (to rule out a blown speaker/short) and when music plays there’s some voltage coming across from the amplifier side.

My car is going in on Tuesday to get a few things fixed and this is one of the item on the list.

Check to see if when you are on a hands free call that this speaker is not active, also from parking sensor tone. Used in conjunction with the telematics system...
