I'm really liking the new green color. I'm hoping to hear from my sales person today that we can push my order a few months down the road. I don't like that the air ride buttons are gone, moving to the screen but everything else looks fine.
it’s a camera to detect eye movement to make sure the driver is focused on the road. If it senses you’re looking away, it will give you audible warnings. So stupid, and now mandated in the EU.
My buddy has something exactly like that in his Toyota Land Cruiser. He covered it with electrical tape.
I hate all these nanny devices with the fury of 1000 suns.
The buttons for air suspension being blanks is a bad sign. The buttons make it one of the most user-friendly cars on the market. I hope removing the buttons isn’t an indication they’re going to eventually jam everything into the screen on the defender.
Grateful my Octa arrived in Texas before the EU eye camera got thrown in. People shoot at things like that around here lol.
They buttons aren't going anywhere. The configurator is up on the international website and when air suspension is selected, the buttons are still there. They just used a coil-sprung car for the press photos.
Invasive ADAS systems are the vehicular embodiment of Lucifer himself. All they do is make people worse drivers, and the EU wants them mandated so they can control basically everything you do in the car. It's complete and utter nonsense.
Interesting... It seems that the Off-Road pack comes with new BFGoodrich all-terrain tires. This wasn't mentioned in the press release. I wonder if they are the Trail Terrains from the OCTA or if they're KO3s.
I honestly wouldn't be surprised if they're KO3s, as the OEM 255/65R19 and 255/60R20 sizes are scheduled to enter production in August, which is around the same time the 26MY production is expected to begin.
However, my bet is on the Trail Terrains, as they say the speed is limited to 130 mph, and I've never seen a proper all-terrain tire with a speed rating that high.
Although the Wrangler Adventures are still the tires used in the press photos, but they photoshopped out the Goodyear lettering (as well as the Continental lettering on the 22" wheels).
Also it's new green color, isn't it? I heard in another thread that Pangea Green is discontinued so this color maybe replacing Pangea Green.
I prefer current tail lights but new one is def. more refined and reminds me of more Range Rover feel. Overall very subtile changes and I do not mind but I do not need to think of switching to new either.
Oh good catch that would be amazing. We have it on our 2018 Jeep GC and it's awesome.
Eh, never been a fan of automated parking systems. None seem to ever work as well as advertised.
The best I've come across is the "Backup Assistant" in our new BMW X1 - it remembers every steering input you make for the last 164 feet driven before the car is parked. When you go to back out of the spot, you can activate the Backup Assistant to retrace the exact line you used to get out of the spot if it's tight - all you need to do is work the throttle. It is incredibly useful and works every time.
