Hello,

I just purchased a defender 110 with the standard Meridian Sound not the Meridian Surround system. In my opinion it performs quite poorly, has anyone here done a plug and play upgrade such as just swapping the speakers out for different ones? I came across this product https://www.scrdistribution.co.uk/au...er-13511-p.asp I wonder if anyone has tried it before. If not any recommendations something I can DIY myself that wont break the bank.

First and most important is if you replace the speakers in our Defenders search for 2 Ohm - so let's say 95% from all speakers are not suited.
Second sound deadening in the doors.

I have the same 400w Meridian system and I think it is pretty good. Nowhere near as good as the 825w Meridian Surround in my old Discovery 5, and by far not the best I've heard in a car, but it is good for what it is. The clarity is excellent, fantastic bass response and crystal clear highs. The midrange is by far the weakest point. I put Dynamat in my doors and it made such a huge difference, I found no need to upgrade the speakers after that. I am also lucky that I have one of the few Defenders that had minimal rattles before I installed the Dynamat.
