Folks, I've got one of the first set of Tuff-Ant rock sliders/sill-protectors. My local independent shop installed them, approximately on week after having install a set from "the other guys" on another customer's Defender. As all have said, Jake is a great guy to deal with - not only with me but also with my local shop in talking through the product and answering any installation questions. By way of comparison and according to the local shop (Albuquerque), these are a much nicer finish, easier to install (6 hrs vs. 8 hrs) (although being the second set they've ever installed on the New Defender could have helped) and they are approximately 3/4 of the weight. Net on my 110 is approximately 140 lbs increase.

I haven't used them in rock crawling situation as yet and it may well be that the others are stronger (or not) but, since I'm primarily overlanding these days, the Tuff-Ant product should be plenty strong.

'just thought I'd provide a little feedback on a great product...

Just curious - but given you have installed the rock sliders to get your Defender all ready for some fun, how's the rest of the underside? I was looking at 110 in the showroom and the underside didn't look like it had thick skid plates - seemed a bit thin, but hard to tell and I had nothing else to compare. My older LR has a rather thick skid plate on the front, but that was how it came. Seemed to me like the Defender OEM may have some lighter protection initially, and maybe you're supposed to replace those at the outset if you plan on doing anything rough. How'd the skid plates look to you? thanks.
