However, I am waiting on pricing from Sean at Lucky 8 Offroad as they have a killer looking brush guard in pre-production and they claim it will be avalable for purchase Summer 2023. I hope they are providing really good installation instructions.

Is that the lucky 8 pictured? Looks good...hopefully will represent a cost save vs importing.

Default Lucky 8 Off-road Brush Bar

Yes, the picture of the black defender with the brush bar is the Lucky 8 product.

I just spoke to Sean about 10 minutes ago and he is trying to hunt down pricing and availability from his boss.

I am taking an epic road trip with my new D90 from Texas to Maine and will be swinging through upstate New York on my way back. If I buy their brush guard, I will have them install it — since I will driving near their shop outside of Buffalo.

I would make the pilgrimage from RI to have mine done too.

I came up with an idea on how to install the bull bar without importing in all the components.

Have the dealership installVPLEP0427 / VPLEP0490 without the winch. Purchase the AU Bull Bar, VPLEP0448, through Scuderia and pay less for all the shipping by omitting the winch assembly. $905.00 plus shipping. Well shipping is $2,881.27. If the entire assembly is shipped from Scuderia the cost is $3,138.91 for shipping only. Not much of a savings.

Maybe i can find a Bloke in AU to send to me or a buddy I know from NZ who imports cars and boas.

Thoughts?

I bought the Aussie bar kit from New Defender Mods and couldn’t be happier. It’s expensive shipping — but there is no better alternative.

The steel is beefy and it’s a factory fit.

Everything fits like it should.

Happened to be at Sarek this week and took photo of his bull bar and winch install (not my defender).

Looks pretty good. The JLR Aussie bar is far more substantial and doesn’t require you to change the look of the front end.

I did talk to Sarek and they are cool guys. However, they didn’t have anything they could sell me that really worked because most of what they are building is rock crawling extreme armor that isn’t in line with a cleaner street look.

Lots of aftermarket shops are posting photos of supposed bull guards but when you want to actually buy, they make excuses on how they can’t ship you a production part.

I got frustrated last year and was simply was done messing around.
