I’d get the 110. The two door looks great, but it’s a lot less practical.

I’ve got a ‘23 90 with a 5 yr old and don’t find it to be an issue.

The 90 is a wonderful vehicle but the biggest drawback is getting in and out of the backseat. Fortunately, my grandchildren could climb over the front seat and over the center console to get there, it’s got loads of room once you’re in the backseat. Trying to get an adult into the backseat, is a seemingly impossible task. Really poorly designed from that standpoint

The original post referenced kids. I’ve been back there a number of times and don’t find it to be that big of a deal. Certainly not as convenient as 4 doors but it’s not meant to be. This is why some people prefer 4 doors over two with respect to cars as well.

I could not resist replying .....

The crumb snatchers (1 or more) are not the challenge. You will not be cursing them much. But, those darn bulky car seats, strollers, changing bags, toy bags, etc. etc. That is another matter. That stuff is devilish.

For all the emotional pain and angst they generated, the MINI-VAN is really the standard by which to contemplate your new reality. We owned four of them, of different brands and they absolutely work. From personal experince, for NYC the Acura MDX is superb. The best family SUV out there. Just not something to off-road in.

I am not suggesting you buy a mini-van. Or a station wagon. Or a different brand of SUV. Just that you come as close as you can stand to obtaining the ideal access to the back seat and to the rear storage area which the mini-van provided.

Bottom line: The 90 does not meet a realistic assessment of suitability for car seats, strollers, baby bags galore. But, I agree it is as cute as they come.

Enjoy the adventure !!!

RIP those rear shocks

Agreed. Great car. Even the 2WD will serve you well.

I'd not like a 2 door car with kids. 90 would be a hard pass from me.

Full disclosure. I'm one of those soulless donkeys CombatNinja referenced that used car-seats and a stroller.

This mentality is one of the big reasons I never had kids. I'm telling you, in my mid-30s I became fixated on these empty-looking shells of men I saw walking around parking lots toting 500 pounds of gear while their wife tells them to hurry up while she is carrying a 12 pound baby. They just looked miserable.
That's the better part of the deal believe it or not, later when she leaves you'll pay her until the kids turn 21. The judge won't care who was faithful. So yea there are incentives for bad behavior, they call it progress...

the NYC part might make me consider a 90 but who really drives in NYC.

i am sure the 90 will work but there is definitely better options.

when i rarely pick up my kids in my bmw coupe it’s a pain in the ***. sure they still get picked up but i can tell you the kids much rather ride in my 110

I just wish the rear seats went flat or could be removed like my Jeep JK - the storage sucks, and the way the seats halfway fold down is awkward.
