l do like the lack of a gearbox on electric vehicles, for day to day use it makes the vehicle so smooth.

The ZF Eight speed in my new Defender is good, but it's not perfect, it doesn't always get things right.
For instance when slowing down it seems to go into neutral and then if you step on the gas there's a "thud" as the transmission re engages.

And on long downhills it doesn't always shift down so you have to brake.

In an electric car you can use regenerative braking and there's no jerking at all, it's so smooth.

Nothing matched my Mondial t though and that was an older Ferrari, analogue gearbox and great big V8, throttle pedal actually connected to the butterfly, no concessions to emissions, no nanny state software interference, redline at 9,000rpm....just get in and drive it, if you mess up it's on you.

ln the city the MPG could drop to single figures. l swear you could actually see birds falling from trees as you drove past.

The smoothness and effortlessness of the drive is key for a DD, then mixed with something very analog to mix it up when in the mood for a fun drive. An old ferrari with a gated shifter will always fit that bill.

Does the manufacturer share the battery life at max train weight = the loaded vehicle plus max towing weight?

Enjoy !

If you double the weight, you should probably expect half the range from the same amount of energy. I know the formula doesn't really work like that but that's the tldr version of a lot of range tests.

Here's one where it did better.

Most EV's don't have transmissions. I always thought a 2 or 3 speed gearbox with a towing gear in these large trucks could improve towing range but what do I know.
