I've been trying to get the Defender L6663 headlights working without the signals from the Defender. Thus far I have found out the following:
Sending CAN messages on CAN1 of the headlight will allow the headlights to be controlled by input pins. This applies to low beam and high beam
The DRL is controlled over LIN, for which I found the correct algorithm to control
last thing i am working on is the indicator lights. I've made several CAN logs of both CAN1 and CAN2 when the headlights where in the vehicle, but had no luck with these. Anyone has any knowledge on these and willing to tell me by which bus (CAN1, CAN2, LIN) they are controlled and possibly even by what ID? is there any other safety measure needed like a counter? If you would like to have the information I found out in more detail, please let me know.
hi, unfortunately I don't have the wiring diagrams of the front headlight ecu module, so I don't know the specifications, surely these ecu modules are different hardware for the various types of headlights, basic, premium, matrix.
I'll send you the connection diagram of the front headlights common to all models.
Forgive me for asking, but my only question is, why? Reading through the advanced CAN signals and hacks described here, I’m wondering what is to be the end result and purpose of this venture.

Thanks for the schematics. I had these and indeed worked it like your schematic. The only thing I don't get working is the indicator lights.
( I worked on a flash system to use 20 different flash patterns for indicators/ lights and some extra flash modules )
But how does it controll the indicators? I want to be the BCM myself so send the Can/Lin message or supply voltage to a pin to get the indicator working. Do you know what this BCM does to activate the indicator lights?
