Default Defender Refresh

I’m currently shopping for a 2024 X-dynamic SE Defender and while doing some research realized we are probably close to a mid-cycle refresh. Does anyone have any insight if that’s the case? If so, I may just delay the purchase or maybe start looking into the Lexus GX.

I have not heard any rumblings of a refresh of the current model. Possibly a smaller version of the Defender in the works is all that's on the horizon.

Cincirovers just said that 2025 130 will get a middle row captain chairs option is the only thing I’ve heard.

Personally don't think it needs much of a refresh. And fingers crossed not the screen-only refreshes happening to RR models.

Now that we’re close to 4-4.5 years into this Gen, I’ve wondered when the next gen might be announced too…

Love my 2020 & would be interested to hear about it.

Unlike the other LR models, which are usually on a 10 year cycle (facelift after 5 years), the New Defender is on a 20 year cycle. At least, that is what JLR communicated, when it was first introduced.

Wow, 20 years? Coming from BMW, where they do a refresh every 3 and a new model every 6-7 that sounds like it would be ancient by then.

This is what I've heard. Significant architecture change but not so significant on the outside.

Yeah, it seems like I read an article somewhere that LR had actually pushed their EV plans out beyond 2026, also. I don’t know what that means for as far the refresh goes, though. 2026 doesn’t seem all that far off, to be honest, especially if the architecture change is as significant as the article suggests.

I recall hearing this as well. Overall the platform will be the same, but will have many small changes over the run. Expect to see the first small refresh around the 27MY per my sources.
