Defender Square Delete?

Has anyone seen a way to delete on the 90? Im deciding between a black 90X that doesn't have the Floating Pillar and a gray that does. I'd prefer the gray (a lot) but the floating pillar makes the back seat pretty awful for my kids. The dealer said the windows can only be replaced at the factory (what?) so he's looking in to other options. Any advice would be greatly appreciated...
My 90 retrofitted to commercial had the rear glass driver side twice replaced.
1st from Glass to a Steel panel, which I didn't like
2nd from steel to a thin polyester fibreplate, on which they have glued the original window ( sidenote, they blacked out the window at the inside first)
So now it has the same looks as a normal New Defender 90
