Thanks OP for posting this. Been looking for open air intakes. Placed my order late Tuesday night and received my intake today.

installed it myself and took a little over an hour.

open air intakes on supercharger engines allows the supercharger whine to be much more pronounced

for the short testing i am feeling much better acceleration and great sound. Car pulls harder all the way to redline.

Open air intakes are prone to heat soak pulling hot engine air.

probably won’t perform as well in the summer

hopefully with the metal guard it will deflect the heat somewhat, it’s a great kit and looks great as well!

You call that a ram air intake, I call that sucking hot air from the engine bay..

technically it is a ram intake not because of design but because of company name.

the new intake sits in the factory air box which funnels air from a air duct.

Same applies to any turbo car. I have a Defender 90 and decided to pocket the $40k savings between the two since I do drive off road also..
I've been modifying turbo charged cars since 1979 but feel free to give me your opinion on intake charge temps and how to control them..

don’t think anyone is running quarter mile drags with the defender.

Most will be taking theirs off road and the open air intake is a terrible idea if that’s your plan.

i am happy with the purchase and anyone with a v8 that is keeping it on the city streets might enjoy also
