been running the intakes and have been able to put a couple hundred miles on them.
car definitely pulls much harder in lower gears and continues to redlines. before the intakes it felt that the engine was choking for air. Intakes have opened up the air intake.
i am also running a TDI piggy back tune and Miltek exhaust.
turbos/supercharged engine need air in and out as fast as possible.
it’s getting warmer and let’s see how it performs as temps rise
Hi gang. New to the forum. Have a v8 defender and looking to put a bit more pep in its step. Seems like the TDI tune and Ram Air Intake is the way to go? Already have the milltek installed. Will LandRover get cranky if they see the TDI piggyback? Does it show up on the computer during service? Any other drawbacks? Thanks in advance.
i normally unplug my tdi for service. will they know you have one from a normal service most likely not. if you blew your engine and they are diagnosing everything to find the source yes they will eventually find higher boost logs.
the TDI is a mild increase in boost and nothing like a full tune and pulley upgrade.
any modification could possibly void your warranty but dealer has to prove the modification caused the failure.

wanted to add, if the dealer wanted they could pin point your aftermarket wheels and larger tires and try to avoid your warranty if something related was to go bad.
i have some less than perfect shifting and i brought it just to check. dealer immediately pointed out my tires were non oem size and insinuated that the cause of the poor shifting was due to my tires being 285 instead of the 275
whats most important is your relationship with your service advisor. be upfront and if you got a good relationship they will try to help out
