destination defender
I did Asheville last November. I got a free 2-hour course but knew I wanted more so I bought the all-day. Well worth it. I am very experienced at Jeep off-roading, particularly rock-crawling in SE Utah and Southern California and Arizona, but I still learned so much about all the electronic wizardry of the new Defender. In many ways its a very different experience than the manual/mechanical off-roading of the Jeep. In fact, I have an order in on a Grenadier largely because I find I prefer the old way (manual electric lockers, air down to 14 pounds, super-low ratio transfer case, etc.), even though the Defender is very, very good. Probably the same reason I traded a PDK GT3 on a manual GT4 back in 2016. Every single thing about the dual-clutch auto transmission is “better”; I just didn’t like it as much as a clutch and H-pattern 6-speed.
