Did my dealer rip me off?
Took delivery of my Defender 110 S p300 late last year. Car is currently in for service and I have a Defender loaner. My issue is, my Defender S has the analog gauges and the small Pivi infotainment screen. When I took delivery of the vehicle, I asked my salesman about this, and he said yeah, that’s the way the defender S comes, I have a defender S loaner now that has the fully digital gauge cluster and the larger infotainment system screen. Did I get less than I payed for? When I ordered the car, I thought I was going to get the digital gauge cluster and larger screen. I trusted my dealer when he told me otherwise though.

Your dealer did not rip you off on the digital screens.
During different points since the pandemic/supply chain shortages, certain components have been restricted at times.
It’s really a crapshoot how your vehicle will get built, doubly so if it’s a lower spec unit such as a 4 banger S.
If you go to to configurator for US 24 110 S builds, you will see 11” screen isn’t even offered right now.

They didn’t rip you off, that’s just the way the cards were dealt for your build unfortunately as well as many others up to now. My p300 delivered 2 weeks ago came with digital gauges but smaller pivi screen (I don’t mind it.) My sales rep told me they are still receiving some Defender X’s and v8’s with analog gauges.

every car comes with a window sticker and build sheet. ideally you would have looked at and confirmed you got everything you paid for prior to closing the deal. as others have stated, supply chain over the past few years has resulted in all sorts of issues, with the pivi screen being a notable one. so i doubt they ripped you off, but easy to check...

I also do not think your dealer ripped you off for the reasons the others pointed above. The very definition of rip off in that case (by dealer or LR) is the poor people that got Defender Xs and V8s, paid upwards of $80, 90, 100k, got analogue gauges and are now seeing the Pivi 4.0 showing maps in the dashboard of much lower spec Defenders (even S trims) equipped with IDD. THAT was a rip off!

No, the dealer didn't rip you off. Yes, Land Rover did. They didn't reduce the price to reflect the upgraded component(s) you were missing because of the pandemic. Imagine that air suspension is a $1600 option on S, but is included for free on X-Dynamic SE, which you bought. But because of supply chain issues, you got the coilsprings on your X-Dynamic. Okay, understandable if LR simply can't source all the parts needed to build you an air suspension system NOW, and you want the truck NOW (by which I mean, in 12 weeks or whenever deliveries are running.) But, they could and ought to refund you $1600 on your X-Dynamic because of that missing element that clearly carries a cost because that's what it costs on a model where it's optional.
In my case, I missed the 2021 order window by two weeks, got a 2022, which is nice, but that resulted in air suspension being optional on the X-Dynamic SE where it had been free two weeks earlier on ALL Defenders (I think. Certainly it was free on the X-Dynamic P400s). But that wasn't a "rip-off", because they clearly made that change for 2022 models, across the board, and I was apprised of that.
