Default Display after after shutoff

My display stays on for close to 10 minutes after the car shuts off. Is this part of an update? I searched threads but couldn’t find info. Of course now I get the run engine due to battery being lower message I’m sure due to the display being on so long. Really annoying. Let me know if any suggestions. Thanks.

The screen in my defender stays on after the car is turned off and exited. Locking the vehicle turns everything off in our case.

Yeah but shouldn't have to take that step. Makes no sense. Thanks though.

If I remember correctly, a previous update extended the ‘Accessory’ on time. Before the change it used to stay on for a shorter time, if you were sitting in the vehicle listening to audio/media, or perusing the navigation, perhaps. And I think it used to shut down if you opened the drivers door. Now it appears that it’s been extended for a longer period, so one doesn’t need to hit the Start button again when your song cuts off. Exiting and locking the vehicle shuts down the screen display and PIVI system. At least that’s how I remember it.

I’ve been having the same issue where my display won’t shut off after I turn off the engine. When I get to the office I unload my dogs, bring in my coffee and such. It at least two trips from the parking lot to my office. I don’t lock the car right away and I thought I was doing something wrong. Thanks for the tip about locking the vehicle.

Should the display still turn off if I have the walkway locking feature enabled? For the most part, it usually turns off after I turn off the car. I just do notice when I’m at the office making two trips. Maybe the car doesn’t lock automatically.
