Default Pivi won't update

I bought a used 2022 p40 Nov 2023. It's been great these past 2 months, but I noticed my Pivi is still on 3.3.2 and hasn't updated since Feb 2023.

For the past month or so, I've:
*Locked car doors and set alarm when I park overnight at home
*Plugged in a battery tender everytime I'm parked at home.
*Truck's Wifi is on and connected to my home wifi
*Truck's Hotspot is off. I've tried both on and off.
*Truck's Mobile Data is off. I've tried both on and off.

Any ideas why it's not updating?
Is there a trick I'm missing?

Did you sign into your profile within pivi? if so log out and back in. You need to also use a AGM specific battery charger at +14.2 v. as an old school flooded battery charger at 12v will not charge to full. Does the pivi update download but just not install? These are two different steps. Look for a message in pivi software section to check. When you are locking and alarming be sure you hear the horn beep.

I have been signed into my profile in Pivi since buying the car about 2 months ago. I also have the inControl app on my phone and I use it to remote start, etc. Per your suggestion, I signed out of Pivi and signed back in...

I use a Nocco Genius1 charger and I've doublechecked that I'm fully charged using an OBDLink MX+ device that tells me the battery is fully charged.

The update does not download and Pivi says I'm fully updated.

If I could revert from OS 4.x.x to OS 3.3.2, I'd do it in a heartbeat. OS4 introduced some nice features, but the auto-dimming of the Pivi screen makes driving at dusk/night problematic. The maps are almost impossible to read (dark grey on black is the theme) and the backup camera is dimmed to the point of uselessness. Be happy with what you have! Wait for OS 5...

I'm in exactly the same boat. 3.2.2 since Feb 2023. I have no problems with it as is. It tried updating back in July. Update downloaded but failed repeatedly to install. The update then vanished into the ether, never to be heard of again. I suspect some installation glitch has thrown a spanner in the works of the OTA update system.

All the requirements are in place.
  • Good WiF when parked overnight,
  • inControl logged in,
  • Vehicle locked.
  • Battery on a trickle.

Plenty of owners state the same as @RH5555

I do understand your frustration: particularly with a new purchase, but better can be the enemy of good.

Pivi 3.2.2 lacks nothing as far as I can tell although my inner geek wants to see what 4.1 brings.

yikes! I'll stop "trying" and be happy with my version. But just like pregnancy, I bet it happens now.

Ditto here. Still on 3.3.2, although at one point 6 months ago I got an update ‘invite’ but even after responding to the update notification, nothing happened to complete the update. And like the others have stated, vehicle is locked, good Wi-Fi signal, logged into InControl, profile recognized and all systems ready. However, I will add that a previous poster stated that he believes the dimming issue began after the update to 4.1, but I have the same dimming issue while still running 3.3.2. So the dimming issue does not seem to be unique to the update to 4.1. Very frustrating situation with the way the updates are provided. Wish JLR could find another way for the end user to initiate the updates.

I got stuck on a software update early last year. Can't remember what version it was, but when I went in for an oil change, the dealer was able to force an update.

What sound does it make when locking/alarming and do the mirrors fold in. I had two wimpy beeps and the mirrors didn't fold in when locking. The double beeps indicate a locking fault. I couldn't update until the locking fault went away.
