I read it... The fact they are losing money when they have a massive supply/demand imbalance is damning. 200k back orders says they have the demand. Not being able to make money with that kind of demand says they may be doomed due to mismanagement. Just hope it's not until after my warranty is up.
The defender is the only model I'd consider owning in the entire JLR lineup... And they nailed a very specific niche for me that Jeep messed up. I also have some attachment to the brand, owning an s3. But they have to do more than that. Jaguar should be right up my alley but offers nothing unique befitting the name. If they can't do that they probably should kill it.

It's a delightful little truck and I hope you enjoy it. Been through plenty of mud, sand, ocean, and a little snow. Pulled an RV an EV, and a golf cart out of very soft sand. It doesn't even flinch, ever.

I think it's all relative. Coming from Ford products, the Defender feels pretty "luxury" to me. If you're coming from Range Rovers, probably less so.
