Everything else in this thread aside (most of which I agree with - extremely! - but I have no time for), DUDE! Do you have any idea of the EU's privacy laws compared to the US? Ask google or Facebook! Or Tesla for that matter. Streetview was banned for a good part of Germany - and google is getting around the ban bit by bit by just uploading more and more data in the hopes nobody will complain. But that's ok, if you want a "streetview" you can just use Maps on your Apple device as Appe learned form google and did not publicize anything when they introduced Maps. The EU is miles beyond the US in privacy issues. And the average EU citizen is much more aware of online privacy problems than the average American. Period.
Sorry. Just really felt that I had to correct such crass misinformation.

Here is something else to ponder about while we are debating privacy laws. Check it out!

Ohhhh this would leave me thoroughly f--ked. I was always seriously against the insurance OBD dongles that did that. This is even worse.

LOL...I am laughing but this is not to be taken as a joke. This is a very serious development and will cause "Fords" in this case to be reporting to law enforcement agencies speeding vehicles. Will they invent detectors to alert folks to the presence of Ford vehicles? Can you imagine the false reports these vehicles can transmit? We do live in an ever increasing monitored world! When and where will it stop....Life was so much simpler and easier in the analog world!

For those who remember the FuzzBuster radar detectors in the 70's and 80's, the new ones will be called FordBusters...
All this tech makes you think about George Orwel's "1984" book.

Put me on the list for a Tesla detector. I don’t want to be near a Tesla on the road while the driver is taking a nap, (believe me, it’s been documented) or reading a newspaper. I prefer alert, engaged drivers sharing the road with me, two hands on the wheel, eyes on the road, thumb hovering over the horn button for the guy next to me texting his buddy about last night’s game about ready to steal the lane I’m in. And include the Cybertruck in that detector’s capabilities. Nearly 7,000 pounds of a vehicle that has no crumple zones and will demolish every thing in its path.

Mike Valentine, owner of V1 and inventor of the radar detector is a member of my local Porsche Club of America chapter. I heard that there are new detectors in the works. Hard to beat the V1 as it is.
