Error messages updated in software updates to be more specific?
I have a theory... that in the recent software update JLR updated the error messages to be more specific and useful to the driver.
So for example, yesterday in a bit of a surprise errr blizzard on Mt. Hood -- I got this error message when my front looked like this:
I've driven in similar conditions, car looked the same -- earlier this winter and all last year and would instead receive more cryptic text-based only messages saying "Adaptive Cruise not available" or "Take Control cruise control canceled" or "Emergency Systems not available".
This is the first time I've seen the graphic of the front with the yellow bumper.
Anyway, not sure if I'm right or wrong here, but I would surely have seen this message... and I applaud JLR for this update if in fact that's what happened!
Totally agree, I never saw that yellow bumper coating message until recently. It clearly shows why some features are not available. Previous message was just a list of which feature was not available with no reason or graphic display.
Land Rover is doing a great job of continuous improvement on these vehicles. On our 2023 the A-pillars are silent at any speed in windy conditions. They also changed the material on that rounded trim piece that runs across the dashboard to a softer material that doesn't squeak like a dog toy. So I don't have to take it apart and line the back with adhesive felt like I did on our 2021.
Brilliant idea Grouse . Brilliant. I need to go back thru my phone and find the transmission fault message and corresponding pic when I was stuck last year. @GrouseK9
