Excited but Anxious New Owner

We have a 2010 LR4 that required front bags but that was after 11 years and 150k miles. If I had shocks and coils likely would have replaced shocks at least once. To this date 165k miles and 13 years the original compressor is still running as well. Not worried at all about the air bags on the defender

2022 P300 here with 35k miles in a year and a half. Have modified the car a lot, lived in it for months at a time, and driven it all over the US and Canada. When on the road it has never had 1 issue or stranded me and is an absolute dream. All my problems have been when I am back home and are mainly with my dealer. I tell them there is a problem and they just reset some module and we do that 4 times before they want to actually start replacing things. Recently had to have the whole HVAC system replaced which was 6k worth of warranty work and has me slightly worried about future costs (have extended warranty) but before this it's been awesome. About to leave again for a month or so and cant wait!

You guys are the best. I feel far better and excited again about the car showing up. One question to you all. I ordered a P400 but I noticed everyone else seems to like the P300. Any reason? Concerns? Any recommendations for added robustness beyond the normal maintenance

You’ve got nothing to worry about. The P300 has plenty of power, the P400 has more, both are excellent engines. You made a good choice. Really happy with the performance of my P400, and as you’ve read P300 owners feel the same way about their engine.

2022 love it
I bought a 2022 X Dynamic SE in Carpathian with 25,000 miles. I have put 5K more on it over the summer. I love everything about the vehicle. Once in a while the truck does not seem to allow CarPlay. This is very rare but annoying when it happens. The passenger rear door does stick a bit when opening. Doesn't bother me at all. The power delivery from the P400 is fantastic. It is fast and smooth. It is a joy to drive. Fit and finish on my Defender is spectacular.

Minor issues only:
-Privi Pro occasionally acts up (won't bring up an audio source randomly but that goes away w/ a ignition cycle), but these software issues seem to be getting better for us with each software update so no concerns there.
-One bit of window seal/trim loose that caused some wind noise (left rear upper door seal had a broken plastic thingy that holds it to the sheet metal which the dealership replaced under warranty).
-LR installed extended fender flare trim started to gap a little on 2 different pieces, re-attached w/ new adhesive by my detailer when I had complete front/fender/side/rear PPF applied in a fit of OCD. I think the extended fender bits were put on when the car arrived at the port not at the factory and they could have done a better job.
The car has been unstoppable in deep snow, equally unstoppable off roading in sandy/desert/fire road/dirt and moderate trails (no rock crawling yet, but I'll probably not be doing any really hardcore rock crawling for awhile) and camped in several times. It is a fantastic vehicle.
I've been in and driven with a couple of heavily modified Jeep Gladiators and the Defender more than keeps up with them. LOL I did a moderate trail w/ a buddy and his Gladiator, he aired down to 18 PSI. He looked puzzled that I just kept my Defender 110 fully aired up at 48 PSI and let the air suspension do the hard work. It was fine, I was more comfortable in my Defender than my friend's Gladiator while we were covering the same trail/rocks/washboard sections and obstacles.
Compared to a buddy's 3 year old 4Runner TRD Pro, the P400 Defender is way more comfortable, more responsive, and has better handling and acceleration. The 4Runner in comparison felt really dated inside and is pretty underpowered for its weight.
The Defender is a way better highway/on road vehicle than most other hard core 4x4's and remember, 98%+ of the driving even avid off roaders do is actually on road to get to the trails....
Enjoy your new ride : ) this car is a keeper.

Had my D250 since November 2022 and in daily use for my business.
No issues at all except for a recall to replace the air filter housing.
Done mild off road and a fair bit of towing a caravan.
The Defender is flippin' awesome. And mine's only the base model with coil springs, cloth seats and steel wheels.
