Did you also just wrap up the connectors and tuck them away? anything special to keep em' safe/away fromt he elements since they will remain 'hot' when the lights are on?

i wrapped them in a plastic bag and taped them really well then put another bag on top of them and then tapped them really well. i doubt water will get in unless submerged

I purchased at certified preowned defender that the previous owner added these rock chip guards. I don’t mind them, but would have to remove them in order to add the arch extensions discussed here. It's 3M red double-sided tape. No problem removing, relatively easy cleanup.

Heat up those panels and pull them off slowly. Use some adhesive remover to clean up any residue.
