The basis for the model presented is a Defender P400 AWD in the long, five-door body variant 110, whose three-litre, in-line six-cylinder petrol engine generates an impressive 400 hp and 550 Nm even in standard condition thanks to turbocharging. Plenty of power then, but we are nonetheless stepping up the pace at this point by remapping the Defender’s engine control software. This increases the power of the unit to a remarkable 512 hp and 710 Nm, which puts the car on par with the top model, which is powered by a five-litre supercharged V8.

This may help address the low useable payload of the V8 Defender, but without the larger transmission from the V8 Defender, I wonder if the HUGE Vroom Vroom fun times might be short-lived?

 

Im also curious how this effects the fuel economy...

this is good news. prob more companies to follow. always been a fan of race chip and hoping they come out with something.

but i do want to see more exhaust options. the p400 needs more grunt

 

so i hear that race chip should have a product coming out before end of the year. should be significantly cheaper than Manhart and do the samething

although i feel the p400 is enough in most cases i have issues at highway speeds taking over other cars in some instances. having the extra hp and torque would be nice

 

Definitely need more info on this. That Manhart tune is almost 4k USD

+40 or so with RaceChip would be my first, second, and third choice before +112 with a remap. I feel boring for that.

 

would you even feel +40hp that's only 10%?
