Default Extended Wheel Arches 3m

Have had hunters prestige extended wheel arches on for about 2 weeks. Left passenger door arch starting to come up a bit. Anyone have similar issues? Thinking it’ll need to be taken off and new 3m auto tape applied. Car has ppf

Similar issues with my lucky 8 knockoff flares. Kicking myself because I looked that the imitation VHB knockoff they came with and thought it was a bad idea. Now a couple weeks later it’s obvious it was.

Meanwhile I have attached solar panels to the top of my airstream with 4 3”x1/2” pieces of legit VHB and those held on 100w panels at 80mph with not even the slightest lifting. And that with no special crazy prep and cleaning. In short the worthless imitation stuff should have been binned immediately because now I get to do it over.

I installed the Lucky 8 version - no issues with the the rear arches or the small pieces on the rear door (I have a 110). The fronts were showing signs of pulling away in at the very front end on both sides. I brought it by my friend that owns a body shop to have a look, and he removed both front arches and used a wider (and he said better quality) 2-sided tape. While the ends are sticking nicely, I noticed two small spots the looked to pop off a bit towards the middle/top section this time and pressed them back down. He said he would take another run at it and he had a couple tricks to make sure they set. He was confident he could get it right.

I love the look, but to be honest, I wish I left it stock. I do not recommend the wider molding kit.

You need to use adhesion promoter on the bonding surface. Order the 3M foam swabs that come in a foil pack.

On my D90 (don’t own anymore) the extended arches would come up at points after the car was wrapped and they were taken off and stuck back on again. We didn’t find a solution

Thanks for all the replies all. Used 3m swabs to to the surface and added more 3m tape. Seems to be a much more secure fit.

my worry was it would fly off while driving. Assuming the clips would’ve kept intact.
