To run a 33 x 12.5, you will have to run a lift larger than 1" Even then, you will get very mild rubbing on the inner wheel well. This can easily be resolved with a heat gun or Dremel tool and some trimming. I have not addressed mine with the heat gun, frankly I'm waiting until some warmer temps to fix it.

My tire is 1.5” less wide but it’s taller. It’s a BFG KO2 in 275/60R20. Fits fine with the OEM wheels and the Johnson 1.5 lift rods. Ordered the 2” from lucky 8 but they turned out not to be in stock (lucky 8 seems to have trouble understanding their inventory). Someone here said 2” lifts suffer in ride quality too. With the Johnson rods, I know it rubbed with a 25mm spacer on the OEM wheels. Since the 25mm offset on the Alstons are essentially splitting the difference between the OEM 41.5 offset and 25 I’m hoping it works. I only ordered one wheel to try. Alstons were out of stock for the last two months - looks like a batch is coming in now. There’s only 3 Hurcules wheels in stock- 2 short of a set.

Hi,

No C8 interest... Its been a long time since I have had a toy car in the fleet.

I've been using the Crewcabrob name on all forums since early 2000. In 2000, I bought a Supercharged Nissan Frontier 4x4 Crewcab. Fun little truck to do the family chores. I just keep using it because I can easily remember it at my age.

The extra width on my tire is the primary reason it rubs. I only went up .7" in height, but the tires were much wider. The way mine rubs with the 32mm offset of the Hercules wheel would be worse with the 25mm offset of the Alstons you are looking at. I wanted a wheel that got me away from using a spacer, so the 32mm offset was about as perfect as I could get.
The wheels are going to be much harder to get now that Defenders are being modded. I actually considered I might have to buy silver Hercules wheels and have them powder coated black. I was lucky and found the set I needed.

Good luck!

Rob
