I have it in both my landcrusers and have never used it once in 5 years.

I would love to have one. In fact, my wife keeps an aftermarket version (electrically cooled, plugged into a power outlet) in the storage area of her vehicle. However, I'm torn between the lack of storage or the space that it would consume for the few times I would like it. Since, I'd be like @Bigwood and not use it often, I'm content where I'm at.

Always used the one in my RRS on long trips and so I am annoyed I did not get the refrigerator in the Defender. The center console storage has never been used since I took deliver in June. Not sure what I would put in it--a sink may be?

No brainer to add, IMO. I use it every other day. There are two settings, cold and very cold. You can even keep an açaí bowl or smoothie cold as well as drinks. It’s more effective than what I had in my prior RRS (2013). I wouldn’t mind it being slightly larger though.

Chiming in here... The console chiller is a must. I've now had it (similar) on an 05 LR3, 09 LR3, 10 LR4, 12 LR4, 14 RRS and never had an issue with any one of them (except leaving moldy sandwich in one for months when I forgot about it). Truly useful and brilliant when on long drives in the summer.

Also didn't realize until I read this thread that the Defender chiller has 2 settings (cold and very cold) - nice !

Also to prevent the annoyance of cans rolling around, use this handy layout guide:

You’re on your own if you only have one can. I suggest you drink up.

I love mine but be aware that there is zero other closed storage in the Defender except for the tiny glove box. It's definitely a trade off but the colored dash lights that go with the fridge are a pretty nice bonus.

Amazon Amazon

Anybody try something like this with it? Gives you some extra space for storing stuff and keeps cans or bottles on rubber so it doesn't bang around the plastic while driving? Curious if it the fridge would still get as cold.

Beware! It is not possible to add this option after the fact. I tried to order it, and they installed this monstrosity which buckles into the back seat LOL.

I was advised the installation of the center console fridge must happen at the factory. If anyone knows otherwise please advise.
