Default Front runner 130 V8 rack install

Customer ordered his vehicle with no roof rails, but it came with them. Tried to order ditch finishers, they exist, but JLR does not sell them separately, they only come on new vehicles without roof rails.

besides that, install went well. Doing a dual ladder install tomorrow. Will follow up with more pics.

Thank you for posting this. I have talked with FR directly about the install on a 130v8 and they mentioned no issues. I have been holding off on ordering one for my 24 130v8 until I had actually seen it done. Now to see if I can find some pictures of the Lucky 8 rear ladder installed with the FR rack I should be set. Too bad the wife took the FR rack on my old D5 for her LR4.

As I recall the LK8 ladder needs to mount on the factory roof rails, which are removed on this install.

Wow that rack is really "up there" above the roof.

Correct. Factory rails. I was a bit worried about that when I took delivery last December of the vehicle. When I was talking with FR earlier this year about mounting concerns I asked if they were planning on doing something similar to the design they had offered for some other LR models where the rack would clamp directly to the factory rails. Sales guy was not aware of this but said he would inquire. I was hoping it would also be the same as the mount on my D5 where you just left the rails in place and the racks mounting feet would attach to the existing bolts without having to remove the rails. When I transferred the rack from the D5 to the LR4 the finishers needed to be removed for proper fit and I am hoping to avoid having to do the same for the 130. If I was not so heavily invested in FR addons for the rack I would also look at the prospeed. They make some nice quality items that I also have on the Lr4.
As for the Lucky8 rear ladder I talked to Erik and Justin on that. They mentioned it had been done before but needed some slight modification on the upper mount to make it work. I have an idea but just need to see it in person to work it out.

6” vs 3” on the Prospeed. I’ll let the 3” difference jokes start organically…

I went with Bad *** Tent Roof Rails, as seen on LK8 video's for the low profile. Mounting Pelican Vehicle Cases on top (BX140R and BX55S). I have a extra BX90R case that I plan to add by adding a Second Front Bar form Bad *** Tents.

Issue during the install: The slider slot on the 130 V8 factory roof rails are smaller than the other Defender models. The mounting bracket would not slot into the roof rails and I had then machines smaller by about 1/8 of a inch.

Per the dealer: The 130 V8 suspension is not calibrated for roof accessories.

I had no issues during a summer trip to Telluride CO.
