might be a different issue but, this happened to me months back. the backlighting on the panel would also flicker a little bit on vehicle startup.

anyway, i removed the panel & disconnected/reconnected the cable on the back. didn't help. then i did a hard reset of PIVO (hold volume button down for a long time until PIVO reboots) and that fixed my non working USB ports. problem hasn't come back since.

FYI JLR released a service bulletin on this for the Defenders and a few other vehicles... not sure if this is your issue but see attached.

Seems to be an issue when the illumination goes away on the 2 USB ports.

Default Front USB ports interrupting or no illumination

In my case I experienced both power interruptions and no port illumination and the fix for both was extremely easy !!!
System reset by long pressing the power button

Hi, I am working on a Velar with the same problem (USB not working and no illumination). I have tried pressing the volume button but to no avail. How long should I press it for as all it does is turn the media on or off. I have tried disconnecting the battery, but no change.

Cheers John

interested in this too. is the illumination something that is always on… or only at night with headlights?

for some reason i thought min used to always be illuminated, day and night.

will have to grab a cable and test if they are producing power.

Hi! No, I can confirm this does *not* illuminate. Wondered the same thing myself awhile back.
