I was browsing through the manual today and found that there is supposed to be a "fuel filler flap lock" button under the parking brake that you press before refueling. I've looked on mine and it's just a blank insert there. I've seen other people use that blank space to install a trailer brake controller so I'm just checking whether anyone's Defender actually has this button.
May be a European model feature as gas is more expensive there. I haven't heard of gas being siphoned/stolen in the US since the 80's.
On another note, what is wrong with the gas cap holder on the fuel filler door. If I even slightly bump it with the gas pump nozzle the tethered cap immediately falls off the holder and bounces off the painted area below. Never had this happen in the last 13 years on other LR models. Amazing how its possible to redesign a simple feature and make it worse.
