Default Gap iid G4 - Exhaust mods?

I may be alone here, but I love the exhaust note when cold starting my P400. Is there a CCF change that would activate this note? It goes away after a few seconds, so something is adapting.

Are you describing the change in note/RPM when the engine moves from open loop to closed loop (as it warms up)?

My thoughts and I could be wrong here... during initial cold start, the computer has the engine running a richer air fuel mixture and at a higher RPM during initial warm up. You wouldn't want the rich mixture and/or the high idle once warmed up.

Has to be one of the weirdest ‘ccf’ change wishes I’ve seen here yet. Just about every car has a higher idle speed and richer fuel mix upon startup. To change the sound of the exhaust, you need to ‘change the exhaust’.

You can do a lot to change the exhaust sound through a tune. Some on the V8 models add back the pops and crackles, the overrun when you take your foot off the gas, and other elements like that. So yes for normal cruising the exhaust itself is the main answer. But you can change the soundtrack quite a bit with a tune too. Talk to Velocity AP who do a lot of work on this platform and they will know what's possible

Although tuning comes with warranty risks. And too much unburned fuel in the exhaust isn't great for the cats. So it's a trade off..

So, it’s all about the ‘pops and crackles’. Sounds like a breakfast cereal. Any mechanic will tell you that the ‘joy’ one gets from hearing those luscious sounds will definitely cause damage to your engine and the emissions system. But hey, if that’s your goal, have fun. Or just drill holes in the catalytic converter and muffler. Lots of fun sounds will emanate.

The only answer out there that I've found and think is worth it and would give you what you want is this --> https://newdefendermods.com/products...exhaust-system

2 video links on that page if you scroll down a bit, you can listen to it. I think it's what you're after.

Has a gorgeous Italian high pitched note -- I really like it. Next on my list to procure.

Eliminates the rear muffler and sounds cracking good on trails and on street. And apparently no drone or the nonsense you get with Quicksilver or the other expensive aftermarket exhausts (which I would not buy after seeing people on here buy them, then sell them to other people, who then are selling them on again)

Also I hate pops and crackles and am trying to get rid of them (via coding) in the factory sport exhaust mode on my 911... they're annoying and stupid when driving through the neighborhood at low speeds decelerating.

With respect - the same engine in the Jaguar platform comes from the factory with that in many configurations making plenty of loud sounds. And their mechanics and engineers seem to think that's fine and doesn't appear to have "definitely caused damage to the engine and the emissions system'.

I happen to like those sounds and have had several cars with it (many from the factory) and no issues with it. I totally get it if you don't like the sound. Many don't. But for those like the OP who is looking for more exhaust noise then it's a legitimate way to get there.
