Default Has anyone professionally painted the base steelies?

The roads in Michigan are atrocious (I believe the worst in the nation) so I'm mulling a base 90 with steelies, which I'd like to immediately get painted black or dark grey. Have any members painted their 110 (or 90) steelies? Curious what it will look like and approx what it costs. Thank you!

I would expect to pay around $130 per wheel. Given you are starting with wheels that are free from curb rash it will be a lot less work than refurbishing alloys.

every town will have a paint house that specializes in this kind of work. It’s big business. You could probably get them powder coated.

Thank you. Sorry if this is a dumb follow-up. Are you saying $130 is powder coating or $130 is just paint? I actually didn't know people just painted wheels, I thought you had to powder coat a wheel for any sort of durability.

I got mine powdercoated for $125 a wheel with remount and balance in Sacramento, CA. They look great. Here they are with my new General Grabber X3s. I really like the white steelies but they didn't really go with my color scheme.

Your truck is so nice! Did you order your 110 with the base tires or the off-road tires? Wondering if you have pics of the powder coated wheels with the factory tires? What do you do with stock practically brand new factory tires after you upgraded?

Just scored a set of used 18" OEM steelies on eBay... now just need to pick color. The gloss black looks awesome and will probably go in that direction and keep it simple (vs. a dark gray). I like the white, and it would go with my white roof, but the overall effect looks a little delivery truck to me. Has anyone done a dark gray out there by any chance?

Sigh... also need to pick tires... thinking of going with KO2s and calling it a day since they are severe winter service rated. Anyone want to talk me into running dedicated winters on the steelies and keeping the stock 19's with Wrangler Adventures for late March - early November?
