I have experienced my first Defender part failure since I got in (so almost five years - not too shabby!). Initially it seemed strightforward - the driver side LED halo is out, passenger one works fine - easy enough. However, I noticed something odd - say I unlock the doors - passenger halo lights, drivers does not, and both sides have the indicator surrounds come on. That seems fine, but then the driver side LED indicator surrounds go out after about 5-10 seconds while the passenger side all stays lit. Is this something more than just failure of the LED driver for the halo? Is it still related? Or do I need an entirely different set of parts? I've been trying to riddle this out though searches to make sure I'm getting the right thing, but I'm getting a little confused. Headlight itself still works just fine (and auto-levels). I assumed the indicator surrounds are a separate thing, so now I'm thinking it's more complicated since both sides aren't acting the same.

This is exactly what happens when the halo is dead.

New LED module or swap the headlight and all is well.

Where does one find a replacement LED module? Does it have a part number? A link to the 380.00 dollar replacement headlight also.

 

ebay. There are loads. Shop around and get a good price. I paid 378 I think

 

Aliexpress, ebay are the two best options. I paid $2.38 shipped. There are tons of options there.
