Default High Pitched Whistle on P300?

I picked up my MY22 P300 in January of this year.

For the past few months I have noticed an annoying high pitched noise that seems to be coming from under the hood, particularly noticeable on start up and seems to die away after the engine has warmed up and I have accelerated over like 50 MPH.

Does anyone know the source of this and if it is an issue?

I feel like I remember reading something about the turbo cooling fan (does that even exist?) possibly causing this issue.

I am in Texas so it was pretty hot this summer and I feel like the noise has gone down a bit with the slightly cooler weather.

I cannot hear the noise while driving with the windows up but can hear it when I drive with the driver's window down.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

EDIT: to clarify, I would almost describe the sound like you hear when someone's brakes are bad but this obviously isn't the brakes because I hear it when I have started the car and it is stationary.

Sounds to me as a leaking turbo, mine did exactly the same.
Left the car for diagnostic the night before, so they could check it with cold engine.
They ordered the new part and replaced it under warranty whitin 2 weeks.

Usually if it sounds like a drill its turbo related, maybe a slight leak somewhere, a fitting perhaps.
So I basically concur with Defendit.
Shouldn't be a big deal and Im sure they will fix it right up.

Is it just the normal turbo spooling up whistle when accelerating at low speeds?

That's what I was hoping and that once I stopped driving in 100 degree heat that the issue would sort itself out but I feel like it's something else.

If I remote start before I get in when it's in the garage, the noise makes it unbearable to be in the garage.

I don't remember this happening when I first picked up the vehicle and have a service appointment scheduled for Tuesday to sort out what's going on.

I think it's all the people whistling at you when they see you drive by in that sweet P300... "Hey, nice Defender!!!"

following up for anyone else that may come across this issue:

service tech diagnosed it as an issue with the oil separator and it is going to be replaced on Friday.

new update:

took the defender in today, they replaced the oil separator and the noise is still there.

they're now keeping the vehicle over the weekend and getting the engineering team involved.

pretty disappointing in a vehicle with 5k miles.

Final update in case anyone runs across a similar issue and stumbles upon this post:

The issue ended up being with the engine cooling system.

From what I understand there was a loose bearing or something like that within an auxiliary cooling fan for the engine. That part was replaced and the noise is gone.

The engine never ran hot, even after use in over 100 degree heat.
