Hitch Mounted Bike Rack on a 110
#91
Another consideration is the swing direction. I went left swing so that the 1-UP swings left and rear door swings right. However, if you're doing street parking, you probably want both to swing right toward the curb.

I have the Kuat and its great
I have the Kuat double bike trailer and you need the extension piece to push it out and up to handle the tire. We just did 1350 Miles with it from Pheonix to Sedona, Grand Canyon, Zion, Bryce, Capitol Reef, Arches and Canyonlands in 7 days. The rack is great and easy to put on and off for when you are off-road. Its rock solid on the highway as well. No stress.
Oh....and don't make fun of my 22's lol

Question- why the hitch mount vs spare tire mount like this:
https://yakima.com/products/spareride
Seems like that would be a good solution to swing out with the door and offer access easily? Trying to decide which way to go and wondering if I am missing something....

@RSuriani Slow reply. my bad
Rack is great. No worries. Very happy with it. Has served us well and continues to work flawlessly. Kuat make a solid rack. Bikes are secure, little to no wobble (TWSS) and looks good.
Thanks to all the helpful members and their posts on this thread. Figured I'd add my 2c to the pile
First day using our Kuat rack on the new Defender with the HiLo Pro extension from Kuat. Works very nicely. I didn't want the extra weight and cost of a pivot as it will rarely if ever be needed by me. This checks all the boxes for us.
Kuat 2.0
This is exactly what I'm looking for: a solution to carry 4 bikes (actually 5, but the 5th one will probably have to go to the roof). How is it after 4 additional months since your original post? It looks great!
