Hunters Prestige Wheel Arches
Hi all,
I elected to order the wide wheel arches through hunters prestige, particularly the ones without the reflectors for a cleaner look. My shop called and let me know that the current arches have a light built in. Has anyone installed the non-reflector wheel arches? Does it throw a CEL if you do not clip the lights in? Able to hide the lights within the wheel arches? Thanks
Below are the wheel arches I ordered.

Side marker lights are required by the USDOT. I bought & installed a set of OEM wheel arches last year and forgot to plug one of the lights in. Took a few days to notice it wasn't plugged in and it didn't throw a code or give me any kind of warning. I went to plug it back in, but you won't have an issue. I would personally tape up the end of the light connector and tuck it in behind the fender do avoid any damage and to keep it protected from the elements.
I have the gloss black ones from Lucky8 that do not have the lights and are much cheaper than OEM. I used some electrical tape to wrap/protect each connector before pushing them back in.
No faults or codes have been thrown since removing these. Only difficulty I have had is that the knock off flares came with knock off 3m tape to put them on which is terrible quality. If I were doing it again I would throw that stuff out and use the real thing because having adhesion issues with the flares is no fun and the 3m stuff works every time.
