Default Defender 110 driver window rattle.

Does anyone have this issue? The dealer tells me it’s normal lol. When you lower your driver window 1-2 inches and go over bumps there is a rattle that happens. I’ve never been in a vehicle that has ever done this. Any known fixes?

Depending on year...it could be considered somewhat normal. You're in the Defender forum, not the 2020 Defender forum...so, if you have a pre 2016 old body style...probably needs new window felts or window door trim. If you have a 2020 or newer...l can move this to the correct forum.

My 2021 P400 had the a similar issue. The first time I brought it in they replaced the bracket holding the window. This helped but didn’t completely fix the issue. The second time I brought it in, they said that the mechanism that lifts the window was rattling against the door frame so they tightened it and added some felt - this seems to have solved the issue for me.

My 2024 110 did this and it took 3 trips to the dealer for them to fix it. I didn't get an actual reason, only that they "adjusted things" every time.

I love this car but have never once had a good service experience with it. These forums are infinitely more useful than the dealer techs have been, I swear they just google the issue and end up here.

I am having this same issue with my 2024 Defender 110. Brought it in and they claimed they did not hear it. Were you able to get it fixed?

My 2023 Defender 110 has the exact same issue as well. I brought it in two times, they replaced the window seal the second time which fixed the rattling for a few weeks. But now the rattling noise comes back again.

It’s the door jamb rubber that touches the paint. You need to use silicone lube and get all these areas. Also the top or the doors rubber. If you can simulate the noise by pressing on the edges of the windows from the outside, this will fix it. I just did mine yesterday and it’s now silent. Basically all the rubber on the doors that touches the door jam when closed is what my issue was on my 25. I happened to have silicone lube but I ordered some gummi pfledge off Amazon because I read about this problem and solution either on this forum or another. Either way, my issue is gooone for now. So happy I didn’t have to drop my new whip off at the dealer, get a loaner and go back after it.
