Default I知 out, thank you

After recently getting a call from my dealer saying they would have to down grade the gauge screen. I知 officially calling it quits. I love technology so having it in an almost $82,000 truck is important to me. . Land Rover has not stated it would refund the difference between a full screen and the analogue cluster. They did say that if I waited that I run the risk of getting into the 2023 model year with the included price increase. Im surprised by their complete lack of customer service and fore thought in their building process. My build was originally P400 HSE and I致e been waiting for months. I知 really disappointed but with the Rivian SUV coming out the middle of next year and the Jeep Grand Wagoneer coming to market I certainly have options. It stings but I admire this forums passion for the Defender and off roading. Peace

That sucks especially on an HSE. Did you have a build date? I'm waiting for a P400 110 X-Dynamic HSE with a 9/17 build date and I've had no such call.

My delivery date was toward the end of October. So I’m guessing build date would have been late September or early October. It might be worth a call just to check with your dealer.

My delivery date is Nov 12. It usually takes ~2 months to get from built to delivered in the US so yours would be built in the next week or so.

Have a P400 HSE on order and got the same call today. Said I wouldn稚 downgrade the gauge cluster. She said she would get back to me with an updated timeframe. Had a 10/1 build date with 11/26 delivery.

Everyone also needs to understand there痴 a global shortage of everything. You can run but you can稚 hide from it. Although it sucks these things are happening, you end up facing the same thing somewhere else. We are also still faced with pandemic closures, shipping port closures, massive labor shortages, factory floors closing then opening two weeks later (worse possible thing for quality control), all of this is affecting QC, delays, financial woes, the list goes on and on. Only saying this because trashing the brand or your dealership isn稚 going to fix the problem. It痴 across the board!

Keep us updated on what you find out. They possibly could be without the screens for a short period of time. My dealer stated that Land Rover did not want to lose money by stopping production during the chip shortage so they are just downgrading the electronics and for all we know are still charging the same price.

My buddies new 992 4S doesn稚 have a power telescope steering column but fully manual because of shortages and Porsche said they値l retrofit it sometime this year when parts become available. They are also keeping things moving but a lot of options are truly disappearing.

I agree with you to some extent. Consumers should come first and special edition vehicles released by Land Rover should not include features that are no longer available to those who ordered Defenders long ago. This was a poor decision on Land Rovers part.

Speaking of, I can't get this out of my head and I've never been a Porsche guy. That color!
