Ignition Start does not Recognize Key
Get a warning upon start that the key fob is not recognized. Neither of my two fobs work. The fob does unlock the doors by proximity and by using the fob unlock button. I now can only start the truck by holding the fob against the steering column. Since both fobs "failed" at the same time, it's unlikely a fob battery issue. Any suggestions? It's a 2022 model.
Same issue happened with my truck several months ago. After 2 or 3 days of starting as you described the fob started working normally and no issues since. I told dealership about it but they couldn’t find cause.

I had this issue on and off since I bought my Defender, brought into the Dealership two weeks ago and they said they replaced a module and registered the keys and now the issue is back.
I did notice that if the engine is running while parked and the passenger door opens the warning message returns...and will not clear until I restart the car..
A ghost in the machine I guess.

I have this issue. Dealer looked at it and blamed the aftermarket wireless charger I have plugged into the 12v in the centre.
to be fair it did seem to disappear when I unplugged it.
do you have anything plugged in too?
im guessing the signal from the smart key was blocked by the charger, but it doesn’t happen every time & it occurs when the passenger door opens, too.

Zero..
I just did a little test, if the engine is running while parked and a door is opened the key warning will pop up and not turn off until the engine is restarted.
The key is still on the center console ..
This happens every time even after the dealer replaced the module.

Maybe unrelated to that, but when parked in a certain part of the parking lot at work, I have to use my key fob button to unlock car. It will not open while key is in my work bag just pushing button on door handle. Anywhere else in parking lot the button on door handle works fine. Very odd. I also have the issue when I drive by a certain shopping center apple car play and phone disconnect till I am long past the center. So weird. No other car does this. And I have had 3 new LR models in the 2 years, and all of them did this when driving by this center. Sales guy says, LR is really really behind on tech and it shows.
