Looking for an independent shop or person in the northeast USA with JLR pathfinder will pay for time need about 1-2 hrs to do some testing and programming on my 2020 defender. Any leads would be greatly appreciated!

 

Bribe a dealer service Advisor. Start with 2 100 dollar bills ask him to come to your car sit beside you in the front seat and ask him for his help. Tell him you will double it and also give the tech 200 dollars as well if you can do remote programming on the Bosch doip tool over Team viewer p2p software. Have the SA write up a legit ticket for software updates and have the SA tell the manager if your back in the shop, that the last update bricked your car and you wanted to watch.

The Bosch doip tool is 2000 on ebay and pathfinder can be downloaded for free but is a 30GB file. Seriously, lol. Do a group purchase with 3 other Land Rover owners and split it 500 bucks each. Money well spent!

 

I had thought about this also. I could always sell it and recoup some of the cost on the back end.

I did some more research - it’s not this simple. you need the JLR subscription and JLR battery support unit about $900. Still looking for an Indy shop to assist or a sympathetic dealer service advisor/tech.

 

Any battery tender attached to the actual battery under the passenger seat will work plugged in, you don't need a jlr subscription because I know a friend in San Diego who updated his truck with the Bosch doip tool and just the pathfinder download, but you do need a ccf editor software program to assist. He's done lots of upgrades no issues. You only need an active subscription if you're doing updates and tsb's to the car/modules etc.
