Default Infoaintment getting real hot on long trips.

Folks,

As title suggests, 2025 P300 S with 4500 miles. I experienced the system not responding at all on the way back from a road trip. I couldn’t even turn it off with the on/off button.

I also noticed it was really hot front and back. So I figured that maybe that heat was responsible for that happening.

Anything I should do or know to avoid that happening again ?

We have an important road trip coming up in mid September and if I need to adress something, I’d like to do it before leaving.

Thanks for any input.

Steph

Definitely not normal. I would talk to your service department and see what they say. Next time it is unresponsive - whip out your phone and start recording it. Because if you take it back to the dealer, they'll just say "oh we couldn't get it to malfunction - sorry!"

What exactly is getting hot? (when you say "front and back” -- front and back of the screen??).

Just the screen in the middle of the dash above the climate controls?

That is definitely abnormal. Mine’s never been warm to the touch in 4 years.

Not normal. Have you tried rebooting the system? Let us know what you find out.

Yes, the screen front and back was very hot.

No didn’t reboot. We drove with the frozen screen until we got home.

Important info I forgot to mention…..The morning after, Apple Carplay didn’t even show up on the screen and I had lost my profile. I had to redo everything I had done when new, to register my profile again on the Land rover app from a laptop.

Everything has been working fine since.

But how do you perform a reboot when nothing responds on the screen ?

Press and hold the center button of the volume control **** on the passenger side of the center console. Hold it down until the screen turns into the green oval logo at least. Or if its frozen - keep holding it down. Eventually it will reboot.

One note: it has to be stopped and in PARK to do this. Can’t do it while driving.
