Has anyone put a roof rack on a V8? . My local dealer will not install it but I have seen a few V8's online with the JLR rack.

 

Odd. Can't imagine there's anything different between a V8 roof & rails and any other engine and trim package. Have you given any thought to simply installing it yourself? All it requires is a few metric sockets and hex wrenches and 60 minutes of time. Easy peasy.

 

It has nothing to do with the roof rails and everything to do with the altered handling dynamics and all that V8 powah. JLR doesn't want to be liable when your Defender rolls on the entry road to the country club.

 

It has the same mounting points on the body. I believe you have to install the roof rails and then u can install a rack. I heard the bolts are loctited in, so u might need a bit of heat
