Let me introduce my new 2022.Trek! Defender! I paid msrp of 85k for the new Trek,
after carmax gave me $85,000 for my 2020 Defender. It was an even wash.
I've saved the steelies and took the wheel off of the roof. I used my old 2020 wheels. Last mod is my Batwing awning and my 2nd battery set up. This our overlander vehicle off roading and daily driver.
I love it. I hope it becomes a collectible like the G4s.
Solid move!! You'll love it. Very unique. I'm also floored with the Carmax offer. They aren't known to under-bid. When they first started out, their goal was to make $0 on vehicle purchases in order to drive market share and customer brand. Now buying vehicles and flipping them on their wholesale auctions is a significant profit source. All that means that the average offer for a vehicle has steeply declined. Because of the crazy market going on right now, you got a great deal! And they will STILL make money on it. What a crazy world.
I dig all the little details that Lucky8 put into the vehicle. I'm sure you'll put it to good use.
ALSO: I wish you would have pulled out that eDiff and sent it my way before you sold it!<g>
Wow. Carmax has four Defenders on their lots (https://www.carmax.com/cars?search=Defender). It will take a week or so before yours hits the lot. Also, sometimes internal employees/execs ear-mark hot cars and when they pop up they snag them. So, the vehicle may pass to an internal person long before it shows up on a lot. If anyone is waiting for the legendary e-Diff add to come up for sale, it may disappear from the market.

Carmax is really killing it ... My Velar was due for a lease return. I called Chase to arrange the handover and the call started real stupid....asking me "disposal fee", "must get new tires" by them and a lot of other crazy things. So, I told them... nah ! I will buy it. The very next hour, I went to Carmax, and I came home in a Uber, with: vehicle paid off, 10K more in my pocket than the Chase purchase value (which btw, it was different than residual !). Anyways, next week after this, the car was on the lot, with 10k $ more than what they paid me, and it sold in about 2 days.... Over all, they sold it at what the value of original MSRP was when I bought it, with 3 years on the clock, and 35k miles. Yes, it is a crazy world.
This TREK looks stunning ! congrats @Mark1107 - super nice and good job !!!!
