Keyless Entry

Keyless Entry
I am new to the forum. I just listed my 2020 Defender 110 HSE for sale because I am 10 months in and every day I get into the vehicle, I become increasingly frustrated with the FOB's inability to open the door. It sounds extreme, but I have lost my patience. I read through all the threads regarding the keyless entry issue and saw that perhaps it was being addressed by LH. Are there any updates to that information? I would love to keep my dream Defender - so please reply if you have any new info. Thank you!

If you are in the US it's because the receiver for the fob is on the passenger side (Right hand drive driver side) instead of our driver side. Take it to the dealer and tell them your problem. they should move the receiver from the passenger side to the driver side as they have for many others here.

I agree with you, @Defender20 - it is WAY too difficult. Mine will never even start if it's in my pocket. They want about interference from phones, etc. - but it just has to be in my pocket. They really blew it if they made it over-secure. I suspect that somewhere is just a poor design decision.

It depends on the problem that you are seeing. Is it that the key fob doesn't unlock the vehicle when you press the unlock button on the fob, or that the door doesn't unlock when you press the button on the door? The former depends on the battery in the key fob to be able to transmit, but the latter is passive; it's unaffected by the battery and is a problem with the fob detection system in the vehicle.
