The Front Runner Rack Kit is not compatible with the ladder or the box. It appears that the front runner rack that mounts to the OEM rails is compatible...but check with them to see if this is true.
That makes sense because you have space in the OEM rail and front runner rack. If you do the front runner long kit, you remove the rails and I believe the LR ladder connects to the OEM rails. Another option is buying a telescopic ladder that you can stick in the back if you find yourself needing to get on the top. I have used the rims as a climbing step with great success to grab things off the front runner rack.
I contacted Frontrunner regarding compatibility with the ladder and lunchbox. Was told that they had not tested it, but the OEM one ought to work just fine. The feet are fixed but you can move the entire rack up or back to get around the attachment points for the side accessories.
PLanning on ordering once in stock, guess I'll find out...
Has anyone confirmed that it works or does not work? Spoke to frontrunner and they "think" it should work, as the mounts for the rack do not obstruct the slots for the factory ladder.
However the issue could be the clearance for the ladder mounts and the rack.
I have the rack, but I want to order the ladder. Anyone know if it can work?
Installed the OEM Frontrunner on Friday. 100% works with the lunchbox. Lunchbox was installed by LR prior to the roof rack install and everything went just fine. I'll update later with some pics.
I don't have the LR ladder but I can only assume it would work as well.
Now that I think about it, if possible I would wait on the rack install until the ladder is on there. There is plenty of clearance between the rack and the arms that connect the lunchbox to the rails. However, the rack would definitely obstruct your ability to screw down the ladder arms onto the rails. If that makes sense... I think it would be doable, just a PITA
I got the ladder, had it installed & took it off. I do not like the way it obstructed the view in the driver side mirror.
I also have FR Slimline II RACK on my 110.
I don’t think you could fit the ladder under the rails in the location Land Rover rack goes on Defender. Picture below.
I got Xtend 750p telescoping ladder instead.
by the way, I had no problem taking off OEM rails & putting on FR rails. Unfortunately, the FR Rack shipment was missing a number of bolts which they still have to send me to install rack.
