Just saw this and wondered if any of the three plaintiffs were from the forum?! Will be interesting to follow.

l don't know what to make of this. I've never had a windscreen/windshield fail on my 90 and neither has my friend in his 110.
ln fact there's nothing like the amount of failures been posted on the U.K. forum, as there have on here.

Yes, Land Rover needs to redesign the windshield of the Defender and make it beefier. I personally had to buy and replace 3 windshields for my Defenders.
Mine, broke on the very first day driving it home. It was a stone thrown up from a truck ahead of me. If you live in snow country, the snowplow will award you a gift certificate for a new windshield nearly every year. Kind of why you want glass coverage. Every car I have had up here from a Disco I to the Range Rovers, including the Toyota have gone through multiple windshields. Glass coverage is $10 a year here, why would you not pay that?? Every windshield on virtually every car has gotten thinner to reduce weight. The Defender's issue is not its thickness, but rather how straight up and down it is. Heck even my old 97 Defender's windshield got replaced under my glass coverage within its first year. It too was nearly vertical.
If the Defender was so bad, then insurers would not cover the glass. They do analyze the numbers, apparently, you should see how much my aircraft's insurance goes up when I put the floats back on it. They know.
