Default Lucky8 Defender Front Bumper Install Advice

Hello!

Im in between jobs for a few weeks and was debating installing the lucky8 front bumper. I have access to a lift and the basic tools. Curious if anyone has given this a shot and has any advice before I attempt it. Also, if you're in the Austin area and willing to help should I lost/confused lmk!

I have been looking at the same front for my new 24 130 I picked up back in late December. I talked to Josh at HCB and they can do the install but would take a few days. I would like to do it at home as well since I am over in the Woodlands. Based upon the video Justin posted on the install it is doable at home just take your time. You might need a extra set of hands lifting it in place that is for sure. Wish I was closer to pop in to assist so I can see it first hand myself before ordering.

I am a huge fan of Josh and HCB, they have done my sliders, lighting on my rack and other work to my car. I highly recommend them if you have other work you want to get done. Since I have the time and shop I was going to try to save the labor (which is about half the cost) and do it myself. I do wish there was some better documentation from Lucky8 on how to do it. I've been watching their videos the last few days and there still seems to be a few gaps in the process.

Anyway, if I do attempt it I will be sure to update here with challenges and what I find to hopefully help you out should you also give it a go in the future.

Thank you. I have known the Gilberts since they had the first shop down there in SA. Nice to see HCB growing to 2 shops under that name there. Great group for sure and they support Texas Rovers which is a big help to the group. I do about 95% of my own work but no access to a lift. Installing this winch bumper having a lift available might be a big help but still doable without one. I installed the PRs sliders, A bar with winch, front runner rack with lights on my D5 at home and did a set of Rovertyme sliders and ARB front end on my D2 with just 2 jacks. For this front bumper install I have an air lift system already for the cooling system since the 2 side radiators need to be removed for the install. I really think most of it could be done at the house but a second set of hands would be needed for sure. I plan on talking with Justin about the install at SCARR and see if they might have changed anything since they made the video.

I would let Josh at hill country install it if he is in your area
