Default Lucky8 (proud rhino) Winch Carrier install

Looking at the Proud Rhino
https://lucky8llc.com/collections/de...en-winch-mount

I see some folks saying install was 10+ hours - is this possible?

I took mine to a local independent, while they don’t work exclusive on land rovers they do work on them. I don’t think they’ve done that install before, it took them 16 hours, at least that’s what they charged me.

Even though I have installed several winches on Jeep OEM bumper and aftermarket steel bumpers and don’t think twice about tackling that job, I read through these instructions and said Screw That; took it to a local Land Rover Only shop. They knew about this but had never done it. Like mikeborden above, I think they charged me for two full days. It took longer than 2 days but they didn’t work on it the whole time. Probably one of those things where they would have only taken half as long for the next one.

Before I spend a ton of money and have the truck hacked up...Lol, what are the legalities regarding installing a winch on your truck? I am considering having the Proud Rhino Stealth winch kit installed on my 2020 Defender (a Lucky 8 recommended installer will do it for me). In the process, the OEM crash bumper is removed and the Winch tray and brackets are installed in its place - effectively becoming the "front bumper/energy absorber" in a frontal impact (although it isn't designed to crumple or serve this purpose). Is this legal? Do you have to inform your insurance company? Do they care? Will airbags still work? Just curious...thanks!
